About the event
The 2025 Summer MainStage is back at the Players Club of Swarthmore with the iconic musical CHICAGO!
Directed by RPAP artistic director Ethan McKellar, CHICAGO, tells the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her lover, and Velma Kelly, a vaudevillian who killed her husband and sister. Both women find themselves in Cook County Jail, vying for public attention and the skills of a famous lawyer to avoid conviction. The show is a satire of corruption, celebrity, and the justice system in the 1920s.
The show is told with nuanced dance and iconic music. It's an unforgettable musical that is still on Broadway to this day!
We should note that this musical is rated PG-13. This means it may not be suitable for younger audiences, although we'll leave that decision to the parents!
