YOUTH LEADERSHIP
Practicum Program
8th-12th Grade
The practicum program is designed for students who wish to be involved in supporting other productions outside of being a performer. This could be helping with administrative tasks, supporting a director during rehearsals, or performing tasks for our social media team!
Directing Fellowship
The Ridley Performing Arts Program (RPAP) Directing Fellowship offers aspiring theatre leaders ages 15–25 the unique opportunity to step inside the director’s chair. Fellows will shadow an RPAP director throughout the rehearsal and production process—observing how creative visions come to life, learning how to collaborate with actors, designers, and stage management, and gaining hands-on insight into the leadership, artistry, and problem-solving that shape a successful production.
Participants will:
-
Sit in on rehearsals and production meetings
-
Learn the fundamentals of staging, blocking, and storytelling
-
Explore how directors communicate their vision to a creative team
-
Develop mentorship relationships with RPAP staff and guest directors
-
Gain behind-the-scenes experience in the professional world of theatre
This fellowship is designed for emerging artists who want to grow as leaders, storytellers, and collaborators while experiencing the heart of live theatre from a director’s perspective.
